How is Matheo Academy different from Duolingo or Khan Academy?
Duolingo and Khan Academy are built on gamification: streaks, levels, points, badges. These mechanics come from social networks and games; their purpose is to keep the user in the app for as long as possible.
Matheo Academy deliberately goes the opposite way. No day counter. No points. No frequent push notifications. We measure progress by whether the child is actually improving, not by how many days in a row they have logged in.

Who is the platform for?
Primarily for primary-school children in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. We are also preparing further apps, so each subject has its place.
Access can be bought by a school (B2B) or by a family on their own (B2C).

How does the subscription work?
One subscription means access to all apps, current and future. No premium exercises behind paywalls, no microtransactions. Monthly, yearly, and lifetime plans are available.

How do you use AI?
In some apps, AI helps us adapt exercises to a child's level. When a child consistently answers correctly, we move them forward; when they struggle, we go back to the basics.
In Matheo Academy you will not find an AI chatbot that simulates a relationship with a child. Algorithms serve pedagogy, not the engagement metric. That distinction is essential to us.

Pedagogy is provided primarily by Tobiáš Učebnice, a publisher with more than twenty years of experience producing workbooks for primary schools. Would you like to become our partner and secure a steady income? Get in touch.
Content creators share revenue proportionally to usage. That is the motivation to create well.

Are the apps suitable for children with learning difficulties?
Yes. Pavučinka develops auditory perception, the ability to work with sounds, syllables, and phonemes that are essential for reading and writing. It is suitable for children at risk of dyslexia, with learning disorders or delayed speech development, and was developed together with speech therapists.
We are gradually adding content with adjusted difficulty and pace for inclusive learners in our other apps.

What data do you collect about a child?
Only what we need to adapt tasks pedagogically: how many tasks the child has done, where they consistently make mistakes, what pace they have. We do not collect data for advertising and we do not sell it to third parties.
We do not send push notifications. For parents and teachers, we prepare a weekly summary by e-mail, which you can turn off.
